Dalby Bridge Club Minutes 24/3/2017
Meeting held at 8:45am in the Bridge Club Rooms

A pamphlet from Foodworks for one of their Easy Entertaining Menus was shown. It was decided to get some more quotes now from other places including a quote per head for a 2 course cold meal for between 30—35 from Pips & Cherries (located at Bell) and Karen Rashleigh. M. Keating said she would ask Karen and Beryl to get in touch with Pips & Cherries. (The cost would be more than last year's.)
It was decided that we wouldn't ask the husbands to work in the kitchen. R. Knight said her boys could help in the kitchen. M. Keating offered to do any shopping if needed.

MARCH CONGRESS 11—12th was successful making a profit of about $1800.
Flowers for the Club House at the Congress — Write and thank Judy Tresillian for the beautiful flowers she arranged to have displayed in memory of her mother Nell Thornton, which were then taken to Karingal Nursing home.

Accounts Passed for Payment: Aust Post (Post Box) $124 , WDRC (Rates) $1267.47; WDRC (Gas) $90; Telstra $82.33
Annette Griffith moved her financial report, which showed a credit balance of $5783.89, as per Financial Statement February 2017, be received and accounts moved for payment be passed for payment. Seconded M. Keating.Carried
General Business (Around the Room)
pointed out the toilets do not seem to flush adequately.

members were invited to either address such matters or bring it to the attention of the committee
DEL SMITH tried to get photos and a write up of the Congress into the Herald but the article was not published.
Philip Atkinson noted that Russell Walton looked lost when he exited the club on Marie Walton Day. (He was happy to have Morning Tea and left prizes for the winners, he always makes a special effort. Members spoke to him and Margaret Keating thanked him before he left.)

suggested the committee did something about the shabbiness of Nell Donoghue's Memorial in the garden at the front of the Club House
Suggested Directors' escape paying table fees (which was not adopted)
advised the date of the Dalby Show Day was wrong in the club booklet (the Club plays on the Dalby Show Day Friday holiday)
Suggested all Directors meet to discuss the rules
Ruth Routley suggested the cleaner be advised when Bridge lessons are scheduled (9-11 am Tuesday)
